Your physiotherapy appointment is at the Sheffield Hallam University advanced wellness and research centre (AWRC) rather than at the Hospital.
When you arrive at the AWRC, please tell the reception that you are here, and tell them that you are attending an appointment with the Sheffield Children’s hospital physiotherapy team. Please give them your therapist’s name and the time of your appointment.
You will:
Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment. There is a carpark outside the centre for you to use.
Your child may get asked to get undressed for their examination, so please make sure they are are wearing shorts and a vest top underneath their clothing in preparation.
Please bring with you information about your child’s other medical history, any medication your child may be taking, and any other professionals your child may see.
If you are unable to attend AWRC and would prefer an appointment at Sheffield Children’s hospital, please contact us on 0114 271 7227 to rearrange your appointment.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please call us on the above number where we will be able to rearrange it for you. You must also leave a message at AWRC on 0114 225 3399 where a message will be left for your therapist. Please also contact AWRC reception if you are running late or are unable to find the building.
If you are able to, please travel to the AWRC by public transport rather than by car as there is limited parking available. The patient and visitor parking is via Leeds Road.

There is a bicycle store on site, but places are limited allocated on a first come first served basis. There is additional cycle parking outdoors and at the UTC.
The local tram route is the Yellow route. The nearest tram stops are Arena, Don Valley Stadium, and Attercliffe.

The nearest train stations are Meadowhall and Sheffield Centre.
The AWRC is accessible by bus with the nearest stops in front of the building on Attercliffe Common.
Heading towards Sheffield City Centre, the stop is Attercliffe Common (Fell Road), and heading towards Meadowhall is Attercliffe Common (Clay Street).

The AWRC is just a 10 minute drive from J34 off the M1.
When you reach the building, some sat navs will direct you to turn directly onto Leeds Road from Worksop road, however this is a one-way street. Instead, you need to turn onto Bootle Street, and then left at the end onto Leeds Road.
