This resource is for children who have difficulty tying their own shoelaces. Here are some options for laces that do not involve tying. All of these can be found online, and other brands are available.
Please discuss with your therapist which lace would be most appropriate for your child.
Elastic laces that lock with plastic. These come in a variety of colours and can fit a variety of shoes.
Curly, twisty laces. No need for tying laces. Variety of colours available.
Sets of elastic pieces fitted into shoe so shoes can be slipped on and off. No tying.
Variety of colours available including all black.
Can be threaded onto regular laces. Laces then fasten with magnetic clip, no tying.

Elastic laces secured with a small metal buckle so shoes can be slipped on and off.

Fastening on laces which allow laces to be adjusted but no tying needed.
