We have set up a text messaging service for our patients who are being seen in the teenage service. The number for this is: 07823 533 862. This number is for text or WhatsApp only. If you would like to speak to us over the phone, please use the contact information at the bottom of this page.
This number is for patients only, no parents or guardians please.
To be added to the service please text or WhatsApp your name to the number above, so we know who we are speaking to.
We will reply as soon as we can (usually within 2 working days). You can message us at any time but we will only be checking the phone during working hours (from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm) so please do not text us with any urgent or emergency problems.
We cannot receive images via text, so if you need to send us one, please use WhatsApp instead.
If you send us a message we will view that as consent for us to message you back, however we will try to keep any messages we send anonymous and not put any patient identifying details in it such as your name or date of birth.
All messages will be deleted once acted upon to keep high standards confidentiality.
All messages we receive will be kept confidential. We will only share information with your parents or guardians if we think you are at risk of harm but we will discuss it with you first.
If you have any questions or concerns, please telephone on 0114 271 7786, or email us at rheumatology.nurses@nhs.net. If you send a message and no one gets back to you within a few days please email or call the number above to make sure we have received your message.
