Top tips when having a blood test
We can help with preparing your child for their blood test. This may include:
a visit to the hospital to get used to the room
practising parts of the blood test like rolling up your sleeves
or meeting the play team specialists.
If you would like any support such as:
booking a quiet room
attending a pre-visit
or to tell us about the numbing cream you are using,

Some things to remember:
On the day of your blood test, make sure your child stays hydrated as this helps make the blood test easier.
Keep your child warm before the blood test. Wearing gloves in winter can help.
Arrive at the hospital 30 minutes before your appointment. You will not be able to check in before this time.
